Grade 5

Recommended for students who have previously sat Grade 4 TCL or are 12+ years of age

Prepare and perform a presentation including audio/visual aides in support of a particular cause or charity

Write and deliver a current news story with audio/visual aides and answer questions from different audience perspectives

Engage in an interview style discussion about the preparation and delivery of your presentations

Development of vocal and physical skills for public speaking
Grade 6

Recommended for students who have previously sat Grade 5 TCL or are 14+ years of age

Earn up to 12 UCAS points

Prepare and deliver a presentation with audio/visual aides on an idea for a business enterprise, social event or creative endeavour

Prepare CV for a job or training course or opportunity and participate in a mock interview
-
Discuss the content and potential delivery of a previously unseen speech

Display development and knowledge of vocal and physical skills for public speaking
Grade 7
-
Recommended for students who have previously sat Grade 6 TCL or are 15+ years of age
-
Earn up to 16 UCAS points

Prepare and deliver a presentation on a social issue and answer questions from different audience perspective

Discuss the content and delivery of an unseen advertisement including visuals, audio, messaging, and the medium for relaying the advertisement.

Express and explain personal views on a social or political issue provided in exam

Display development and knowledge of vocal and physical skills for public speaking
Grade 8

Recommended for students who have previously sat Grade 7 TCL or are 16+ years of age

Earn up to 30 UCAS points

Prepare and present a presentation, including audio/visual aides on an aspect of the communication process in advertising, politics or education

Identify and reflect on the range of communication skills used in advertising, politics or education

Give a public address for an unknown situation

Give an overview of a contentious issue from current affairs, social media or politics. Discuss, and explains both sides of the argument and the issues involved with the arguments.

Display development and knowledge of advanced vocal and physical skills for public speaking, and show understanding of an effective rehearsal process
